Jake Gyllenhaal, People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2009, was photographed arriving at the 17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Monday night (October 21, 2013). The 32-year-old actor shocked onlookers with his gaunt appearance at the event, where he received a best supporting actor award for his role in “Prisoners.†Jake Gyllenhaal told that he lost more than 25 pounds to play a creepy crime journalist in his new film “Nightcrawler.â€
"I'm playing a character who's hungry, figuratively and literally... so I wanted to get there mentally and then have it transform me physically, because I am not one to rely on science as much as I am on just sort of instinct," the buff and bearded actor said.
Before showing up at the Hollywood Film Awards ceremony, Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted on the set of his new movie. He looked virtually unrecognisable after his alarming weight loss, with his razor sharp cheekbones now protruding noticeably.
